DANGER – MORE LORRIES

DCC/4153/2019
Proposal: Variation of Condition 7 of DCC/4074/2018 to alter the current restriction on road delivery tonnage from 55,000 tonnes per annum to 120,000 tonnes per annum
Location: Willand Anaerobic Digestion Plant at Willand AD Plant, Station Road,Tiverton Junction, Willand, Devon, EX15 2QE

Currently the AD Plant situated off the small roundabout opposite the Stan Robinson Depot on the Halberton Road is permitted to bring in 55,000 tonnes of ‘feed stock’ for the digester per year and then they take away the waste called digestate. This means about 15 lorry movements in each direction per day – other than Sundays.

They want to increase this to 120,000 tonnes per year.

This will mean at least 18 more [Total 33] lorries per day travelling along South View Road and Station Road in each direction on top of the increases in lorries to 2 Sisters. The lorries will be carrying loads of silage, chicken manure, farm slurry and food waste from all around the area.
